The aim of Sergej Glinkov's painting workshops is an exploration of two forces driving the artistic creation: the idea and the object. Ideas are settled down into desire, while objects are represented by the variety of forms surrounding us. Providing a coherent shape to desire is probably the greatest achievement that every artist aspires to.

 

Through theoretical study and practice, students try to become aware of the complex relationships between the idea and the object in order to recognize the principles that make "talking" or "silencing" a picture.

 

The high spots of the workshops are the following:

• Brush discipline (gesture, pressure, gravity)

• Theory of chromatic and tonal progression (matching colors and mastering the “chiaroscuro”)

• Composition and forces that run a painting

• Guidelines to analytical approach to draw a model

Workshops are designed for beginners and for who already had experience in painting and would like to explore various possibilities inherent the process of painting.
